Brendan Brooks is an art director, still life, fashion, and beauty photographer located in Detroit, Michigan.
Brooks began photographing his surroundings in the American Midwest at age 14. Graduating from the College for Creative Studies in 2023, his thesis project, Carbon, Concrete, a 300-page self-published photobook, was acquired by the Detroit Institute of Arts and is held in the permanent collection. Carbon, Concrete contains images he produced from ages 15 to 21, and exhibited in Detroit, New York, Budapest, and Brussels.
His images often include motifs of subculture & counterculture, beautification of the mundane, and investigate the paraliguistic nature of contemporary fashion.
